Every organization aims to hire qualified professionals,
motivate them and keep the employee attrition rate at a bare minimum. And HR
managers do just that. Their job ranges from recruiting people suited to the
given profile to making sure they follow company rules, help them upgrade, and
put in place policies that reward employees for their efforts. An HR manager’s
job is to use management tools to manage human resources, who in turn, marshal
all the resources at their disposal to achieve key organizational objectives. Today
boutique HR firms apart from offering routine recruitment solutions, payroll
management, compensation and benefits solutions, etc, have started specializing
in various HR solutions through technology platforms, boardroom consulting,
successive consulting leadership consultancy, customized learning and
development solutions, thereby creating a vast pool of careers for fresh job
seekers across industries. Those who intend to work in industry must be people-friendly,
patient, and innovative and equipped with strong communication skills.

Interview questions
What are
common interview questions?
Interviews
enable prospective employers to gather more information about applicants and
build upon questions already put in application forms; they are also for prospective
employers to check that what has been written in CVs and application forms is
real.
To
anticipate what form the questions might take, put yourself in the role of the
employer and consider what you would like to know.
Questions
are likely to cover:
· educational achievements;
· work experience;
· personal skills, such as leadership, teamwork;
· personal goals;
· understanding of the role;
· strengths;
· Weaknesses.
They
might be put as:
· What made you decide to study at university x?
· What did you find challenging about working as an x?
· Give us an example of how you worked effectively in a team.
· Where do you see yourself in five years' time?
· What would you bring to the role of x?
· Tell us about your proudest achievement.
· Do you envisage any difficulties in carrying out this role?
Don't
assume that the interviewer has read your application carefully (there may have
been many). Prepare your responses as if the interviewer knows little about
you, but be prepared to justify anything you have put in your application.

Be On Time
Be on time for the interview. On time means five to ten minutes early. If need be, take some time to drive to the interview location ahead of time so you know exactly where you are going and how long it will take to get there. Here's more on preparing for an interview.

Stay Calm
During the job interview try to relax and stay as calm possible. Take a moment to regroup. Maintain eye contact with the interviewer. Listen to the entire question before you answer and pay attention - you will be embarrassed if you forget the question!
